5 Months

Again, time passes so quickly and I can't believe we have a 5 month old!  She is still very busy.  We have had a big month...we have a cereal eater, a roller AND a sitter!

Just after her 4 month doctor appointment, dr said we could start cereal, she LOVES it!  We did rice first, and a few days later tried oatmeal.  After trying both, she seems to like oatmeal more, but we add in a little rice to use up what we have.  Most of the time you can barely spoon more into her mouth fast enough! She also likes it very warm, borderline hot.  If it is not warm enough, she refuses it. Just like her bottles! Little stinker! We are excited to start trying other foods.  She loves to eat, so I am sure it will be super fun.

Being the little stink she is, of course she had to do things backwards and sit before she even began to roll.  The big girl started sitting a few weeks ago, and then the next day rolled from her back to her front.  We are still waiting on the front to back roll, but being the little girl she is- it will be on her time and her time only!

She is still busy, busy, busy.  Since it has been nicer outside, we have been trying to get out as much as we can.  She seems to love being outside, and the fresh air is such a nice change to inside.  She is always looking around and is into everyone else's business.  She still loves her jumper and exersaucer.  She loves to give 'hugs' and touch people's faces especially mama, papa and nana.  She loves to look outside at the trees and when she's inside she smiles at the dogs, and if they are all by us and you ask where they are by name, she looks right at the correct one.  It very well could be all coincidence, but I think Evie is a genius :)

She is still a great eater, and sleeper.  Again, still working on the naps, but she is rigid about her bedtime, and likes to begin her routine by like 6:50 pm and asleep by 7:20-7:30pm.  If we start any later it can be meltdown city.  It is nice for us as we can watch some shows and get a few things done before we go to bed.  (Total downer for our social life...as if we had one before!)

Here is our month in pictures.  I am loving Instagram right now!

 Loving her Oatmeal!

About to go outside...my favorite hat!

Playing in her Jumperoo!

Outside on the deck in her exersaucer.

Same day...pooped out from all the fresh air!

Being silly while eating!

After evening Oatmeal is Bath time- long enough hair for a curly mohawk!

After waking up- must not have combed down the wet mohawk before bed!

Tuckered out after an afternoon with Auntie Jenny, and cousins Carter and Ryleigh!  Almost getting too big for her infant carrier!

I think she thinks she is in jail!

Big Girl Sitting!

5 month fun pics

It was a quieter morning...she was so serious!- had a little cold yesterday, still recovering :)

Our little Evelyn continues to allow us to fall deeper and deeper in love with her daily.  She is our 16 pound rolly poly bundle of joy.  We love to see what new things she will show us each day.   I am excited for my first mother's day with Evie- already received cards from my mom, sister and lovely friend Anna. So thoughtful :)

hope all is well with you and yours...

4 Months :)

Wow!  I seriously cannot believe we already have a 4 month old!  We are definitely out of the 'newborn' stage...so does that just make her an infant or a baby? Sounds lame...because she is so much fun...both do not to justice to how busy she is.  Anyway, we have 'busy girl' on our hands.  She loves to be in her Jumperoo and exersaucer.  We are lucky to have had so many wonderful hand-me-downs she has lots of options :) EVERYTHING goes into her mouth.  She loves her Sophie Giraffe just chews, chews, chews on it!

At her 4 month appointment on Monday, our little pork chop is 15 lbs 10 oz and 25.25" long and is in the 90th percentile!  Our little bug has a big melon and is in the 97th percentile for her head!  Poor thing had to get two shots, she just gets pooped out and a little crabby...nothing some extra snuggles can't fix.   We got the OK to begin some rice or oatmeal cereal.  Of course I ran to Target to get some...the shelves were empty, like so empty I had to take a picture to send it to John.  I was shocked! So, I will get some in the next tonight to try...I'm excited!

She has become so interactive and is so fun.  We always call her our 'Funny Girl' or our 'Busy Girl'...she is so BOTH.  She is always smiling (of course unless she is tired!) and loves to be busy, busy, busy.  Whether it is her being in her jumperoo, at ECFE, under her play mat, in her high chair, baby bjorn or being held.  She loves to look at everything, and be in everyones business.  She is close to rolling and sitting.  Such a strong girl. She loves to talk and squeal...or as of the last few days grunt! It's too funny.  We have a feeling once she starts talking...she'll never quit (but listen to her mama, nana and aunties....cousins and babci...haha)

We had some darling three month pics taken, but I haven't gotten them into my computer yet (cut me some slack! This whole working mom thing has me busy...and I need my down time watching shows!).

The biggest accomplishment this month was getting her from the 'Rock and Play' sleeper into her CRIB.  It was a hard transition as the rock and play is at a slight incline, so all of the sudden sleeping flat took some getting used to.  We did the pack and play in our room for two weeks, then put her in her room...just like a big girl!  She did awesome.  I think it was significantly harder on me than her, yes, in case you were wondering I am doing ok with the transition.  Now we are working on putting her down drowsy and not snuggling her to sleep...we will get there! It's just mainly me being selfish and wanting to snuggle my baby all the time.

She is still sleeping really well, and eating well, too.  This 'over producer' may be able to quit pumping in the next month or so and still have enough for Evie drink breast milk for her ENTIRE first year.  Yeah, so I am not joking when I say over producing.  Our entire standing freezer is full of Beef (we bought our first 1/4 cow...yum!) and Breast Milk.  I know, probably TMI for some, but if you know me well...I tend to overshare!

Here is our super cutie...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Hoppy Easter :)

She couldn't have just one Easter dress!
Always in her mouth!

 SO smiley!

 Basking in the sun..

This was too cute not to post...

Our little Evelyn is keeping us all busy,  I am fortunate enough to get lots of pictures and videos from John and my mom when I am at work.  Doesn't make is quite so hard to be away.
The pups are still loving her, and she smiles at them all the time...watching the relationships between them grow will be fun.

Hope all is well with you.

3 Month Update!

Again, time has passed so quickly!  We have been busy, busy, and things have changed quite a bit! Evie has began turning her head when she wants to look at something, is a pro at tummy time, grabs and hold onto objects, loves to sit  and stand assisted, had her first cold, is constantly talking and smiling up a storm and is almost rolling over! EEK!

Here is our month in pictures:

John and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary with a Chocolate Lovers Buttercream Cake, just like at our wedding...and lunch at Lions Tap! We kept it easy as it was the day Evie had her 2 month check up with shots!

Fairly happy despite 3 shots!

Almost rolling over!

Feather stole Nana's spot on the couch to snuggle!

 Brooks giving Evie smooches

Grabbing toes

Holding onto toys!

Asking Auntie Alyssa and Auntie Jenny to be her Godmothers!...and of course Uncle Josh to be her Godfather!

Dedication at Westwood Church...with her red patent leather shoes

So, all in all it has been a busy month! With all of that I also went back to work last week.  Yes, the waterworks were flowing the night before, but I was shooed out of the house the next morning by John and reassured by all of the videos and pictures throughout the day that she was just fine.  It's nice to be back, but sad at the same time.
Evie has been a great sleeper up until last week when she got a runny nose :( She is feeling better, just waiting to get  back in the groove of things.
She is so fun to interact with right now, and am excited for all the future 'fun-ness' to happen!

Hope all is well!

Andrea
